Modernizing Brampton's Gridlock with Smart Infrastructure

Brampton commuters lose an average of 86 hours every year stuck at red lights on empty cross streets. Outdated electro-mechanical timer dials along Queen Street, Bovaird Drive, and Steeles Avenue fail to respond to real-time traffic volumes.

Paul Tarriwal today announced the Brampton Smart Corridors Initiative, deploying AI-adaptive optical sensors across 120 key intersections.

Key Milestones of the Traffic Plan:

"We cannot build 21st-century prosperity with 1980s traffic signal timers," said Paul Tarriwal. "Smart technology saves taxpayer dollars and returns precious hours back to families."
